Lucia Mittermeyer Saraiva collaborates with VCA since 2010 where she has responsibility for technical advice of Social law, Non-Governmental Institutions and Social Solidarity law and of the so called “Third Sector” and Family Law.

Support and protection to children and youth at risk, restructuring and new life projects viable for young mothers and couples, foster care for children and young people, advice on procedures for child adoption, training in Children Law, national and international legal advice for the application of techniques of assisted pregnancy and protecting the rights of parenthood including complex issues of nationality and conflict of laws.

Legal advisor of the board of several private institutions of social solidarity linked to CNIS – Confederação Nacional das Instituições de Solidariedade (National Confederation of Solidarity Institutions) representing this confederation in the meetings of the Europe Council in Strasbourg.

Education

Law Degree (Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, 1992). Postgraduate Diploma in the area of family law with a special focus on children’s rights and youth. Advanced Course in Children law (Universidade Católica Portuguesa, 2001). Course on the Legal Regime of Adoption (Portuguese Bar Association, 2004).
